Skopelos, Greece Residency
In April, I will be on the island of Skopelos, Greece for a three-week artist residency at the Skopelos Foundation for the Arts. (I know, it’s tough suffering for one’s art!) I’ll be creating one or more prints that continue my exploration of symbols and images from disparate cultures and time periods that change and morph as they come into contact with one another, affecting the meaning and perception of each. While in Greece, I will explore and combine some of the rich set of images, symbols and rituals of the culture with an emphasis on the Greek Orthodox religion. I’ve planned my residence to occur during the Orthodox Easter. I’m certain that will provide additional inspiration as well as great food!
