Kathryn Maxwell

The Artist

Fascinated by other cultures, the artist has traveled widely. Supplemented by her love of reading, she has been inspired by a broad range of cultures and eras and the visual imagery associated with them. Her artwork focuses on the connections and relationships that bind, and often divide, humankind. The complex relationships and perceptions formed by culture, race, religion, gender, and increasingly biology or genetics have formed the thematic basis of her artwork for the last decade.
